Carly Natania Grossman was born in the Bronx, New York, but mostly grew up in Arizona.
She graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from the University of Arizona where she trained classically in Shakespeare, Chekov, Moliere, Commedia dell’arte, and Restoration. In addition, she received training in stage combat where she earned a Recommended pass in Unarmed combat, while also passing in Broadsword and Rapier/Dagger. While in college Carly had the opportunity to not only be in the Shakespeare play, The Two Gentlemen of Veron (photographed in the picture to the left), but she also took on the role of Choreographer and Fight Captain. Having the show set in Chicago during the 1920s the choreography include jazz and tap numbers.
Carly performed a Vaudevillian swing dancing clown act on the Little Island with creative partner Josh Dunn in 2022 (photographed on the right). The performance was completely created and conceived by both Josh and Carly.
In addition to creating wacky clown-like dance performances, Carly enjoys upcycling clothes (an embroidered piece saying, “My Eyes Are Up Here”, photographed on the left), obsessing over vintage fashion, teaching fitness classes and sneaking food into movie theaters. She even started a small clothing business with her sister called CarJam (a combination of their names) and sold at many outside markets and online.
